Manchester Parks

We are discovering some nearby parks in Manchester to take some family walks in...

We recently took a long hike up to the top of Case Mountain in Manchester on a mild late fall day (dad used to mountain bike up the rugged part of the trail there).  Bailey and Megan did well keeping up despite the 3/4 mile uphill trek.  We were rewarded with a sunny vista of the hilly landscape looking west toward Hartford and beyond.  The base of the hike starts in a small park with a waterfall (seen below).

Yesterday we found some extensive walking trails among 3 reservoirs in the Highland Park section of Manchester: the Howard Porter Reservoir system.  The trees, which were labelled for identification, looked very healthy and the reservoir kept very neat (which is good because we might be getting our drinking water from them!)
