Halloween must go on!

With only a few neighborhoods that had electricity this Halloween (and with dangerous powerlines down everywhere), trick-or-treating was essentially cancelled in Connecticut for all with a few exceptions this year. Fortunately, Megan was able to hit 7 or 8 houses on Gigi and PopPop's street and we made our annual Halloween visit to Great gram and Linda's house. Surprise sleep-over guests Uncle John, Aunt Kathy, and Cousin Jenny greeted us there (they too had no power and needed a place to go).

Spooked for Halloween

This year's Halloween was particularly fun. First, a few days before the holiday, our neighbors "spooked" us by "anonymously" dropping off a basket of Halloween goodies (candy and toys). We, in turn, were instructed by a cute poem to "spook" two more neighborhood homes, which Christina did by preparing two goodie baskets and dropping them off at their doorsteps. After a ring of their doorbells, we drove off into the dark, looking back to see their confused faces.

On Halloween, Aunt Teri and Uncle Dave came over for a pizza dinner and then stayed to hand out candy while we took Megan up and down the street. Teri and Dave counted approximately 60 visitors to our house. We finished the night with a trip to Great Gram and Linda's.

We almost forgot, but finally carved our pumpkin - into Dora the Explorer!

Halloween with old young friends and Trick or Treating in New Neighborhood

In our 2nd day in our new home, we had neighbors visit to welcome us (with pies in hand!).

In our 3rd day in the new home, we went trick or treating around the neighborhood and met some very nice folks - this is the neighborhood that we were hoping for!

Halloween and Isabella's 1st B-day party

Megan had been given a Nemo costume to use for a chilly Halloween night and we also bought this cute fairy costume for an indoor (warmer) dress-up birthday party for friend Isabella who turned 1 recently.

Megan's First Halloween with Bailey

Bailey enjoys Megan's company this year for the annual Halloween photo. She is a butterfly and he is a bee. They entered a contest. We'll keep you posted on the results...
