Mother's Day and Megan's First Race

We are just settling down from a busy Mother's Day weekend...

On Saturday, Megan and daddy went to a kid's workshop at Home Depot and built mommy a flower planter. Megan was so proud to build something with daddy, She used wood glue and a hammer and nails to build the wooden planter from a kit and then painted the finished project. She even got her own orange Home Depot smock and a pin for completing the workshop. She then enjoyed a birthday party at the house of one of her friends from pre-school with mommy that afternoon.

On Mother's Day, Megan ran her first race: the Mayor's Cup 1/2 mile Kids race at Henry Park in Vernon. Even though we were last place and she fell and scraped her elbow, we still crossed the finish line are were greeted with much applause. Megan enjoyed watching daddy's race which followed, and then eating the post-race food. We then went to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus, but it was terribly loud so we did not stay long.

It was a busy but fun weekend. I'm hoping that we can relax a little next weekend!
