We made our 6th? visit to Mystic Seaport since joining as members last year and were surprised not only by a cooler than expected day, but also by the annual wooden boat show exposition which brought many vendors and visitors today. The Seaport really came alive, with sails and semaphore flags hanging above the approximately 30 visiting wooden sailing vessels, competing for best in show. Nautical instruments, hardware, books, workshops, boats, clothing, and everything seafaring was available for purchase. I still can't imagine having the desire to own and maintain a boat, but I enjoy the atmosphere nonetheless.
