Uncle Ryan and "little brother" Johnny stopped by with an impromptu invitation to join them on a visit to the CT Renaissance Fair in Hebron. We weren't sure what to expect and whether it was even kid friendly, but we took a chance and brought Megan.
It turned out to be the perfect back-up plan in the event that Hurricane Sandy spoils this year's Halloween!
The Hebron Fair grounds were covered with vendors, performances, and wandering renaissance period actors and actresses in period costume and dialect. It was very kid friendly - Megan was able to trick-or-treat at 50 + vendors (I wish we knew enough to dress her up and bring Bailey too).
She and I tried shooting a bow-and-arrow (I hit the target 25 feet away once). She mastered climbing the Jacob's ladder (Uncle Ryan succeeded on his 2nd attempt, taking 10 min to do so), while me and Johnny failed miserably.

But the best part by far was the "Princess Tea" where two young ladies dressed as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty entertained a room full of young girls and boys to a period-style tea party complete with tea, cookies, conversation, a story, and party games.
